Retrospace Vault on Tumblr

Over the years, I've managed to accumulate a lot of retro images that never found a place within a post here on Retrospace. So, I've created Retrospace Zeta on Tumblr (the link is on the sidebar) as a place to slap up a cool photo or song which probably won't wind up on Retrospace. It's also an opportunity to share with you vintage pics by other bloggers.

I've only been fooling with this for a few days, but I think it will be something worth checking it out now and again. If you're tired of reading, and just want to look at some eye candy and listen to an old tune, this may be a cool place to visit on occasion.

I mean, what else am I going to do with a 1960's picture of a chick being groped by an elephant?

  1. My favorite "Retrospace" retro photo is that guy driving in some kind of a tunnel with a lion in the side car. Creepy and thrilling all at the same time!

  2. Let's face it, Tumblr offers a lot of things Blogger does not. Google needs to pick up the pace if it's going to keep up with new platforms like Tumblr - look what happened with Yahoo's geocities!

  3. Yea I had some plans to do something like this with Picasa then they deleted my whole account once. No reason given. I now have a place at Photobucket set up but it is a long process to upload files. I have just too much stuff here, all of it of vast cultural value of course.

I have a new angle coming soon. The Uranium Cafe as an online magazine. With a cover and flipping pages and magazine like layout. My wife knows how to use the software and we will design a layout together. Of course it will look Famous Monstersish. Will let you know when the 1st "issue" is out.

  4. Actually Tumblr is blocked in China but after seeing yours and another guy's Tumblr site via proxy I liked it so much I set one up, but then was really unable to edit it much or upload very quickly so for now that will not work, though it seemed like a good idea.
