It's October!

Summer's gone, the air is a bit cooler, and October has arrived.  I don't know about you, but I love celebrating Halloween. It's such fun getting in the spirit of the season with family and friends throughout the entire month. Whether it's picking out costumes and carving a pumpkin with the kids or watching horror flicks with friends (my wife hates them), October is always a blast.

I plan to post primarily horror related posts throughout this month.  If you're not a big fan of the horror genre - not to worry.  This is Retrospace, so things don't get too dark and sinister around here - we're talking about things like 1970's Halloween TV specials, monster cereals, Bewitched, and spooky album covers, etc. Pretty harmless stuff.

To view Halloween related posts from the past, check out the Retrospace "Halloween" banner in the sidebar.

You also might want to check out the Countdown to Halloween blog which will be featuring various blogs which will be posting on Halloween themed subjects.  See the banner below; the link will also be in the sidebar throughout the month.

  1. Let's start it off with a little quote from Dr. Sam Loomis concerning a patient of his named Michael Myers,

"I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... evil.

Now play a little Halloween theme music whilst you read that quote and you will be in the mood for Halloween.

  2. My favorite holiday. I used to shoot for watching a horror movie a day in October. Now that I have kids there just isn't time for that. It's more like some Munsters episodes, Mad Monster Party, the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and a few others.

  5. Glad to hear everybody's in the Halloween spirit. I look forward to posts coming from the other bloggers out there - especially those with a retro slant.
