Aw that was dreadful. But I guess with all the flowing vodka in Russia, maybe nobody noticed how horrible he is with the la la la's and dum dum dums. EWWWWWWW
I had heard there were words to this song, but the USSR censors made the songwriter make so many changes to the song until the lyrics sucked. That's why there were no words sung.
Cristoph Waltz made a great parody of it on Jimmy Kimmel live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUbGcRJUDu0
That guy looks like Bob from the Enzyte(?) commercials.
Ha! He looks exactly like Bob from the commercial. Good call.
I posted about him on my own blog a while ago, and some Russian person pointed out that his style of singing is or was actually quite popular in the U.S.S.R. back in the day. The original lyrics (as were pointed out as being banned) had something to do with him being really happy about returning home to see his girl. The media actually tracked him down and he didn't get what all of the YouTube fuss was about, which tells me he thought he was a pretty good singer back in the day. And yep, the parodies out there are hilarious.
Sadly, this guy has been making the rounds on the blogosphere...people can't say enough about how bad he is.
Damn. Apparently, I'm the last person on earth to see this video. I don't get on youtube much - the video quality on there interferes with my OCD. Subsequently, I'm alwasy the last to see these popular videos.Speaking of which, anyone seen the Rainbow guy on Youtube?..... just kidding.
After a couple of bottles of potato vodka, he might not look so bad. On the plus side, you can hardly see the puppet strings.
This was "car accident bad" I mean, no one was injured in the performing of the video, I couldn't turn away. I had felt something I hadn't before. It may have been that it was incomprehensible, or extreme embarrassment (he must know how ultra corny he looks and sounds), or I don't know what. I only know that because he knew what he was doing, when he did it, he must have been doing his best. For that reason, I have to say it...I really liked it. It makes me laugh, It makes me want to repeat it in a mocking voice, but I can never hate it. yo ya yo yo yo yo, ya ya ya yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!Oh, and I just finally saw the double rainbow, and what an orgiastic experience it was. I felt like I needed a cigarette and a towel after seeing it.
His choreography reminds me a little of Andy Kaufman lip-synching to Mighty Mouse.BTW, I'm new to your site and I'm hooked! Thanks!
LOL! This guy's had quite the revival of his career thanks to the internet.
We are of the same mind, it made my list of Top 10 Unlistenable Songs:http://anorakthing.blogspot.com/2011/01/ten-of-worst-songs-ever.html
Best remix of the song (IMHO): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ78IlJs5JQ
