The Retrospace Podcast

For the sheer hell of it, I decided to try my hand at making a podcast.... and I think it turned out pretty good. No talking, just songs and audio clips. It's got some TV themes, a cut from "Foxy Brown", a sinfully underplayed psychedelic recording, a bit from the movie "Meatballs"..... well, I won't ruin it for you. Take a listen.

Given that I've only spent an hour or so fooling with this, any direction/advice would be much appreciated.  I'm going to try and keep it up and see where it goes.  You can subscribe to the podcast by clicking below or the banner in the sidebar.  I hope you enjoy it.

  1. It was fun hearing those oldies, but there were too much of them and had no really back story or introduction to them.

It would be better if you would release one or two of them per podcast and include any back story that you can. If you don't want to have your voice recorded on it, then a simple article embedded or an accompanying post should do.

  2. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'm surprised to hear there was "too much of them" considering it was only fifteen minutes long. I'll have to check out some music only podcasts to compare... and maybe go to Best Buy and get a mike.

  3. Gilligan, if you lived anywhere near western CT I would jump to volunteer to help you produce this. If this is just the tip of the iceberg of content (and I can tell, it is) Chris is right. You need to provide some back story vocals and find your "voice" with voice (as you have already done so well with "Retrospace") and take this to the next level. Your visitors and your peers who appreciate the content and skill of presentation are saying "gimmee, gimmee, gimmee! Well, I am anyway. You have my email; drop me a line if you need some help.

  4. Ah, so much dang fun taking me back to those good old days when my soundtrack was the whatever was on our local radio station & in the evening, TV enchanted with comedy & a very real sense of hope. I'll definitely be tuning into this. Yeah... Thanks.
