Mini Skirt Monday #97: Group Photos

The omnipresence of the mini during the early seventies is perhaps best illustrated by group photos. Maybe, after this post, you will begin to fathom the ubiquity of the early-70s miniskirt.  Questions will be raised: "Did guys back then appreciate what they had, or was this a case of too much of a good thing?" In other words, chocolate is nice as a dessert once and a while; but, if I'm eating chocolate morning, noon and night, does the chocolate lose its mojo? Can there be such a thing as a miniskirt overload?

It is the official opinion of Retrospace that there can never be too many minis; all arguments to the contrary are invalid. There are only a three things in the universe that cannot reach a limit of overload, which will always remain good and pure no matter the quantity: (1) Love, (2) Miniskirts, and (3) the elvish bread Lembas.  It's true - look it up. Now enjoy the minis.

Note: I tried to set a general ground rule that "group photo" should include at least 8 people, and does not appear to be a "family photo". Click on images to view full size.

  1. A fourth thing you can't have too much of: cute girls in mini-skirts with glasses. Eg: the Teddyettes girl in front row.

  2. A couple of those older women in the minis (teachers, presumably) in the pictures remind me of why I almost didn't pass some classes, lol.

  3. Well, that didn't overload me with minis. So, you must be right. There can't be too many minis. Certainly, when considering the great inventions of modern man... the wheel, electricity, antibiotics, the microprocessor... the miniskirt is at the very least in the top three.

  4. What lessons are we to take from this outstanding post:
    A couch is a guy's best friend.
The best cloth designers of the day were working on minis not on pants or pant suits.
The girl sitting to the far right in the sixth photo to the bottom is so smokin' hot that I think I'v found myself a new imaginary girlfriend.

  5. Breathe some real air, get help sex addicts.

  6. Sorry Anon ^ but these are so good you can almost smell it. What genius photographer convinced the girls in pic 1 to stand over him like that? What idiot photographer in pic 2 had half the girls' faced blocked?

Cutest: extreme left of pic 12, under the word "Teddyettes." Adorable. Runner up: everybody in pic 25, but esp far left of front row.

Pic 20: Lucky guy. Pic 22: Is everyone sleepy or drunk? Pic 26: why is that girl screaming?
Last pic: so many girls getting chummy, and one shlub in lower right showing HIS legs.

  7. Even though I was in school after the mini-skirt years, in my yearbooks, the girls who were cheerleaders were often in uniform in ALL group photos, whether of cheerleaders or not, because the cheerleaders were also getting there photos taken that day. And of course, that meant that the cheerleaders had to wear their uniforms to school that day, even if it was not a game day.
