Mini Skirt Monday #105: Minis 'N' Cars

I took a quick perusal of my Miniskirt Monday posts and was a bit surprised to not see an automobile theme.  God knows I've done some pretty odd miniskirt themes (minis and booze, for instance), so I figured I'd already done one with 'cars' as its theme. After all, what would seem a more natural combo than man's two greatest loves: the combustion engine and a pair of gams?

Alas - I have yet to do one. (Or maybe I have, and I'm just too lazy to do a thorough exam of what's been covered).  Either way, you can never have too many cool cars and miniskirted babes. So, here goes... Enjoy!

God bless St. Trinian's.  One day this'll make it to DVD stateside.

Love this shot. A short mini is guaranteed to get you free roadside service.

I like to sneak some eighties pics in every now again. I'm sure you don't mind, do you?

Note: As you may have noticed, my Miniskirt Monday posts have been getting pretty heavy handed with the images (often featuring 50+ large pictures in a single post).  Please, please, please let me know if this is getting on your nerves.  I understand that most of you out there have computers that can handle this no problem. However, I'm curious if any of you feel these posts are giving your CPU a hernia.

Look - it's the eighties again.  How'd you ever guess?

This car makes the Prius look formidable.

I'm thinking '10 minutes to pancakes'. (Regular Retrospace readers will get this.)

Some of these car show honeys may look familiar.

If memory serves, the pic on the right is a screen cap from an episode of Miami Vice.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong. [Update: I was corrected: It's Born in East L.A. starring Cheech Marin]

Be looking for an album cover themed Miniskirt Monday in your near future.

  2. This many pics doesn't bother my computer, it's my loins that get overloaded! I mean my brains!

As much as I love the other eras, the 80s just knock me out. Wow.

And, I'm not complaining here, but the very bottom left picture is actually hot pants, not a mini skirt.

  4. I've seen some of those photos on an Italian retro fashion website; is that where you found them, Gilligan?

    1. I've seen that site as well - it's been around a while. However, that's not where I got these. These come from old magazines, yearbooks, etc.

  5. I believe the screencap (identified as Miami Vice) is from Cheech Marin's "Born in East LA"...

  6. When it comes to pretty girls and cars, more is always better. Always.

  7. I could be wrong but I believe the 80's lady in the white mini dress with white pumps is British glamour model Linda Lusardi.

  8. So Carol "Bunny" Burkett named her drag 'stang the Cotton Pony? She's riding the cotton pony? Nice fire suit, Bunny.

  9. Where you ask "This car makes the Prius look formidable is a concept car from AMC (American Motors Corporation) called the Electron http://www.carstyling.ru/en/car/1977_american_motors_electron/

    1. Damn. That just proves that AMC made some of the best looking cars around.

  10. For the chick in red platforms about to get into the Mini (Cooper) in her mini (skirt), the first thing that raced through my mind was "oh, this will be fun". As for the eighties images being knockouts, agreed, but remember that you're comparing professional models and photographers to snapshots of girls next door, and really, the girls next door are very much the More Wonderful Thing, overall. As for no car themes, there's been auto show themes (in which you didn't use the one I sent... which was admittedly not as good as any that you did use, but is better than some of these). Another possible outcropping, though, which I've just started Googling about for, is trophy girls. I raced stock cars in the '70s, and the trophy girls at our track were usually in minis. Some crasser tracks had chicks in bikinis, or, as the eighties progressed, in "fitness wear" ala Olivia Newton-John. Ugh. Should be a law.

    1. You're right about the models vs girl next door, but many of the 70s ones were models as well and I still like the 80s better.

    2. Well, there was a general hotting-up of things in the eighties. Wasn't it the eighties when the Victoria's Secret catalog came out? And some were saying it would cause an epidemic of anorexia among young girls, remember? I guess that didn't happen.

  11. Very, very nice post! A couple of shots here of girls with cigarettes gave me an idea for a future "mini" post: Girls Smoking in Minis. I was too lazy to see if you have already done that theme...

  12. Tom Smothers of the Smothers Brothers in the funny hat and Linda Vaughn, Miss Hurst Golden Shifter, in the low cut, white mini dress.

    1. Actually that is Dick Smothers. He did some drag racing in the late 60s and early 70s.

  13. How did the paparazzi miss the one of Lady Diana Spencer in the miniskirt? (First impression only; not her really.)

That Škoda ad surely did not appear on their side of the iron curtain! They must have hired a Western advertising agency to write ads that would appeal to degenerate Western appetites. It was for the good of the state.

  14. My fellow anon :-) is spot on with the Linda Lusardi ID.

Also that's veteran of 70's UK horror films and Hi-Karate ads Valerie Leon perched on VL1 and the former Mrs John Barry and Madame Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin perched on the Citroen sports car.

  17. The lovely Miss Hurst, Linda Vaughn. Can never have too many pictures of her.

"Bunny" Burkett has a website (under construction but there's still pictures there). I guess she still races. http://www.bunnyburkett.com/43rdyear/index.html
