Mini Skirt Monday #127: Minis on Campus (Part 5)

We've talked before about the prevalence of the miniskirt in our Nation's schools during the early seventies - and how distracting it must have been around the "poor" male students (note the quotation marks).  We've also discussed how the male teachers must have had to douse themselves with cold water after each class.  Times were tough back then.

Well, the last post on the subject was back in August 2011; so we're due for another.  All I ask is that, as you look at these photographs, you say a silent prayer for those male students and teachers who had to live through this very testing time.  I was but a young lad and immune to their struggle.  Posting images of the hardships they had to endure is the least I can do.

2 - Where's the teacher? Takinhg a much needed (ahem) "bathroom break".

3

4 - This poor teacher appears to be conducting, but I'm guessing he's actually having some sort of mental breakdown.

7 - "Okay, okay. I'll change this to an 'A'. But next time you sit on my lap AND I get a back rub."

  1. 1968-1971 were my high school years. This was the high point of the mini skirt era. Permanently etched in my memory are the views that mini skirts allowed. I always looked forward to going to Spanish class as the cutest girls in school sat facing me.

    1. 69-75 jr. high and high school. Not only seeing minis worn by my female classmates, but many of my teachers. Either just above the knee, or mid-thigh. I am still surprised I graduated, seeing how distracted I was on a daily basis, lol.

  2. In #18 what looks to be art class, they've got a girl in a mini seated up high. The guy on the right has absolutly the perfect vantage point. If that had been me, I'd have been so weak kneed it would take 10 minutes before I could stand up.

    #s 25, 26, and 33 have awesome legs.

#30, they are all holding a spoon. The guy in the bottom right is slightly confused, looking off saying "Why the hell am I holding a spoon? I just came over to be with these chicks in minis."

    1. Evidently in addition to "winning" spoons the two girls front and center both won pictures of a spoon. If Retrospace ever runs a creat a caption contest this would make a good challenge along with anatomy class photo #15.

  3. Back in 1968, my first girlfriend ever wore the shortest skirts in our school. Was I kind of proud? You bet.

    1. I had a similar thing in about 1970 - her skirt was so short you could see her knickers a lot of the time. I thought it was great!

  4. I expect there were lots of guys "dropping their pencils" in those days.

  5. No backpacks back in those days.

I don't recall ever having one either.

    1. Backpacks are for college. Having to carry all your crap home every night made for better citizens back then.

  8. If only the Van der Graaff generator worked on the skirts, as well...

Notice that no one, male or female, is wearing running or sports shoes?
When I wore my bright blue Adidas running shoes to high school I was teased for it.

I remember in my algebra class in high school (late '70s), I sat behind one of the freshmen cheerleaders. The freshmen cheerleaders often wore minidresses (not miniskirts) on game days. Apparently, it is much harder to control the lengths of minidresses, as opposed to miniskirts. This girl had her minidress ride up on her while sitting at her desk. When she got up, the skirt on her minidress only came to her hips! She quickly pulled it back into place, but not before providing a view of her spankies!

I also remember a girl or two (non-cheerleaders) back in middle school (mid-'70s) who would occasionally wear short dresses and skirts to school, despite it being out of style by then.

But nothing was as shocking as the girl in my third grade class who wore a very short minidress to school with only sheer-to-the-waist pantyhose (and NOTHING else) underneath it! She provided her own upskirt views when she went up on the slide at recess!

  12. To add to what I posted yesterday (and I figured out how to post under my screen name!), the girl in my freshman algebra class had her skirt flipped by a guy who was (at least, at that time, anyway) a real jerk. But she just laughed it off. It must not have bothered her too much because she remained a cheerleader for the remainder of our time in high school. And yes, back then, that meant wearing the uniform to school all day in class on game days!

  13. It would have been interesting to hear from some teachers.

  14. When I entered the 10th grade in 1967, a girl named Ellen sat across from me everyday wearing a mini skirt and see through lace panties..it was my first intro to seeing pubic hair or a bush!! She drove me crazy..another girl named Marsha, sat across from for 3 years in homeroom also wearing lace panties and flashing some fur..I discovered MANY girls wore these kinds of panties made by a company named Maidenform ( still popular)...I counted at least 200 girls in my school who wore them...my wife & ex -wife also wore them both in school and currently...knee socks ( BTW, all wore knee highs, it was the style) & lace panties- great combo!!
