Vintage Men's Mags #32: Big, Big Hair!

What better place to look for big heaping mounds of hair than in these old girly magazines.  The 1960s were all about the bouffant, and the skin mags were not about to show you about of drab girls with limp hair.  Quite the contrary - whether wig or real - big was in, and it is a beauty to behold.

Let me add that, if Retrospace wasn't afraid of offending the kiddies, we could talk big hair all night long.  But alas, it is not to be.  Here is a taste of what could have been...

  2. Looks to me like Parliament Publications weren't afraid to reuse wardrobes or background sets--check out the similarities between French Follies Vol.3 #4 and Bachelor Party #5.

Also, the Tip Top headline "HOBO IN HIGH HEELS" has me both intrigued and frightened.

    Nice collection, Gilligan!

  3. I had a cousin that had a collection of every Playboy. In the distant 1970s I remember looking at the girls from the sixties and thinking: "Why would girls wearing almost no clothes go to all that trouble with thier hair?"

  6. The story in BROADSIDE...was the subject a millionaire who became an orgy master or a man who became a millionaire by BEING an orgy master?

  7. This hair always confounded me. I can't imagine it up close and personal. It wasn't exactly "come touch me" hair. And how weird was it to see it bobbing up and down or domed against a pillow. Maybe it's time to ask around.

  11. Oh my God, the woman on the cover of "Sheer Hose" looks like one of my sisters-in-law. No bouffant, though. And yes, I'd like to see her in that outfit, lol.
