Vintage Wheels #19: Biker Magazines (Part 2)

"Gilligan's biker mag post was a wake-up call to all men and women who call themselves writers.  Somewhere, Hemingway is smiling."
- Gore Vidal
My last post on biker magazines was so critically acclaimed, I figured it was time for a follow up.  Please save your ovations for the Pulitzer nominating committee.  I agree, it should be required reading in every school, but at the end of the day, I'm just an ordinary guy like everyone else.

So, enjoy the much anticipated sequel.  Signed leatherbound editions available by request only.

I want that "Bro's in Hell" poster so bad.

  3. Just in time for the 4th of July! What makes America great? Biker mags. Especially ones with high cut denim shorts. And yarn bikinis.

  4. Traci Lords and the late pornstar Savannah did great bike mags covers too.

  5. I'd really like to see the Supercycle "Word Game That'll Wreck Ya" I bet it can't hold a candle to Easyriders cryptic crosswords.

The first cover looks like someone's soccor mother doing some sideline work.

  7. Very cool in a cheap beer, big hair, unshaven sort of way(and that is definitely a good thing).

  9. A couple of the magazines don't even bother to show a token portion of a bike.

  11. Almost every one of those women is familiar, in a rented her videotape from the little room in the back of the store sort of way. Sadly, the only name I can come up with is Racquel Darrien on the blue Harley on the SuperCycle cover.

    Love these posts!

  12. Seventh from the bottom, Super Cycle, is definitely pornstar and Penthouse Pet Racquel Darrian. She also did an Easy Riders cover as well. Her biker-bar porno, Rolling Thunder, is a classic!

Since a lot of these mags -- Particularly SC and ER -- had centerfolds with cheese-cake nude photos shot on/around a cycle, a lot of the cover girls were also nude models and/or porn stars.

The second one -- April 83 SC -- the girl was also a then moderately well-known porn star. I confess I don't recall her name but she was pretty good looking all around.

One of the last two -- Feb 89 SC -- she was also a nude model IIRC.
