Vintage Styles #55: 50s Hats

In the 50s men and women had an elegant and classy style of dressing at all times. No one would dare wear sweatpants or jogger pants in public. A killer outfit in the 50s is considered dressing up today and when you wanted to add a little class to your outfit in the 50s, simple throw on an awesome hat.

When it comes to the ladies, nothing matched those awesome dresses than a little headwear to give it the extra boost of elegance. Below we have a couple of 50s-styled hats oh some pretty classy ladies.

All photocred goes to MyVintageVogue. What do you think about brining some of these styles back? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. Do only do the new owners NOT GET IT, they also aren't doing any work themselves, just stealing other sites' scans. New owners, you completely and totally suck. Give it up. I hope you lose lots of money.

    1. Hate to break it to you all, but Flashbak pics are also taken from other sites (ObsureLA,etc) all of them. Not only that, but most of the pics, when you go to look at them, are hosted at a site that sells them. Barely anyone has any original content now. When they do post it, someone invariably decides to show it at their site anyway, and the original person gets pissed off and gives up in disgust.

    2. Not Yeoman's Lowbrow's posts. Show me a Flashback post that just links to other sites' images. And this site continues to suck more than ever.

  2. At least we can still enjoy Gilligan's work at another site.

    3. This is still the "real" Retrospace but with new owners.
Gilligan is posting over at Flashbak.com under the name Yeoman Lowbrow. Lots of great stuff there, not just Gilligan's.

    4. And the new owners aren't posting worthy stuff, therefore it's no longer the real Retrospace.

    5. Which is why I mention Flashbak so much.

  3. Indeed! Let's all just leave this site once and for all. I'm not even sure the new owner is even reading our comments. But this is my last visit to what used to be a fantastic site...
