Perhaps no one embraced the mini skirt trend more than the airline industry. Around 1972, women started protesting the practice, and a good deal of negative publicity was being generated. It didn't take long before the stewardess as "cocktail waitress in the sky" mentality was phased out almost entirely. This topic was covered in more detail in a previous post.

Ah, those were the days, weren't they? On mustn't forget that nurses were also clad similarly until about the same time, or perhaps a bit later... to think that, once I was old enough to more truly appreciate it, those days were sadly long gone...

I was in high school in the late '60s and therefore a young man in the early '70s. Girls in miniskirts were everywhere. I really miss those days.
