I've scanned about 30 pages from a couple catalogs from the 1970s - all from the home decor section. Herein you will find stunning bouquets of floral prints, shag carpet in bathrooms, bean bag chairs, and tons of wood paneling. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
Unhygienic? Only if you put it around the toilet (like there is around that far out lavender one) and pee on it. Otherwise, it's no different than having carpet in the rest of the house. All the real carpeted bathrooms I've ever seen (including the one I grew up in) leave linoleum/tile/whatever in the area where the pot is.
I have a picture of my grandparents posing in their newly redecorated living room from october 1976. Tangerine and gold carpeting, thick gold drapes with tacky brass tie back things on them...a frikkin brown/black tweed couch with a bright orange stripe going down the middle...I don't know if I can post it here, since it now appears in Awkward Family Photo's book.
ah hell with it...here it is... http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a185/mandyd26/popmom.jpg?t=1279420255

My parents' house, built in 1970, has that plastic brick in one area. It's pretty cool stuff.
ReplyDeleteCarpets in bathrooms. *shudder* So unhygienic!

Nice, pika! I like how they're holding onto each other, like an earthquake struck while they were getting their picture taken.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
