This week's theme is pretty self-explanatory. Miniskirts and bikes: the kind with pedals and the kind with motors.
If you have a recommendation for a Miniskirt Monday theme, please drop it in a comment. We're on number 133, and I'm running short on ideas. Let me know - no matter how odd or curious your suggestion is, I'm sure I have plenty of pics to fill the category.

Here are a couple ideas --
ReplyDeleteMinis on the Moon: a retrospective of the crazy minis used in Star Trek, Space:1999, UFO, and lots of advertising that was trying to be hip by playing with the Sci-fi theme.
Mini the Pooh: the often oddly inappropriate use of minis in childrens' story-time TV and ads.
Mini Pearl: a review of the Hee Haw tv show and similar country-themed mini-centric media.
ah yes, 1971 when I rode on a bicycle built for two with her on the front seat, her long hair blowing back in my face and her fragrance... and she had on a mini!! I do remember that, oh to be 17 or 18 again knowing what I know now..
ReplyDeleteSpot on.
DeleteHow about something food related. I know that's kinda vague - but maybe picnics or bbqs or something like that. :)
ReplyDelete#9: Runabout...It packs...it certainly does!
ReplyDelete#6: This has to be the best running gag on Retrospace. Will that woman ever make up her mind and get her Jack-In-The-Box she's starting to hold up the line.
#33: A bike in his room? Anyway, a cheerleader, paddles and a knowing smile. Is this guy putting that shoe on or taking it off?
#31: The situation most likely to result in pancakes.
Minis from the side and rear. Minis with family. Minis in motion. Mini in color side by side vs. black and white mini. minis and hobbies. Mini greeting or farewell (one of the most iconic photos with a mini is the girl who greets her dad home from Vietnam on the tarmac.)
#1 Aren't those girls a little old to ride that style of bike?
DeleteI remember the picture of the girl in the mini greeting her former POW dad. I also remember Mom was wearing a mini, too. Nice-until I found out she had been having an affair with some guy while her husband was a POW.
DeleteThat unpleasant business said, someone mentioned "minis with high heels." Recalling the pleasant sight of that during my junior high years, I have to say pictures of that now would probably induce a heart attack, lol.
May recommend Minis in the Eurovision Song Contest? A rich vein I feel

ReplyDeleteIs #7 Tonya Harding??
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Tonya, how about a Minis on Ice post? In keeping with the Retrospace theme, I would expect to see Peggy Fleming and Dorothy Hamill rather than Tonya, with a generous sampling of some of the lesser lights who graced the Ice Follies with their shapely gams during the 60s and 70s.
ReplyDeleteGood suggestions. I'm feelin' the love for a lot these.
ReplyDeleteI guess there'll be no need for my "minis 'n' railyard hobos" post now.
Take it back to the source: British and European minis...the age of Mary Quant, Twiggy, Peggy Moffitt and Jean Shrimpton. I was looking at The Beatles' rooftop concert and seeing an ocean of miniskirted girls looking on. The Americans may have been late adopters but Britain and Europe were all well away by the time the USA caught up.
ReplyDeleteAnother idea is 1990s miniskirts. With Jennifer Anniston in Friends leading the way and almost a generation ago, the 1990s was a rich source of legs on show.
Minis and clowns. No, wait, don't do that!
ReplyDeleteMinis and hi-fi equipment (including records).
Minis and cars (always a favorite of mine, I know you just did one recently).
Late '60s-early '70s minis compared/contrasted with '80s minis.
Go-go boots and minis.
Minis and high heels.
Minis and weddings.
Minis and religion.
Why not cut right to the chase and do mini skirt upskirts? Or Minis and Stocking Tops, Minis and Pantyhose Tops, or Minis and Panty Girdles?
ReplyDeleteOr stay conservative and to Careless Moment Minis.
#1 Yes, the Stardust was the shopper's bike… if you were shopping for a nice breeze over your muffin.
ReplyDelete#22 OMG! 3 little hotties on a cycle is hot.
#23 WTF? Did that entire band fit on that one cycle like clowns or something?
#24 Nice Beezer. The cycle is cool too.
My idea; minis on nuns.
Ummmm, #31 had the aroma of pancakes to it or was that just my imagination ?
ReplyDeleteMinis on ADAM-12 cop show. Minis with eyeglasses.
