You know me. I've got to have a frickin' theme. Can't just throw up a bunch of pictures of gams. No. I've got to have a grand unifying concept. This time it's the humble telephone. Enjoy.
Admittedly, part of the enjoyment of this post is derived from the old phones almost as much as the gams. There's a soft spot in my old heart for those rotary telephones.
Notice the wires. You can't stroll through the grocery store leisurely talking on this hunk of hardware. This is the antithesis of portable. We forget that. not so long ago, people spent most of their day nowhere near a phone; utterly unreachable by text, call, email or skype. Hard to even imagine.
THE END
So nice. Back in the good old days when a phone could legitimately be used as a weapon.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of those gals are calling for a pancake delivery!
ReplyDeleteI especially like #9 and #19 which have phones _and_ typewriters.
ReplyDeleteHow can the girl in #25 be calling for pancakes when there's no cord???
That's an early wireless model...see the antenna going past her head?
DeleteA theme is the difference between cheap voyeurism and cultural commentary...and why do I think that spot ISN'T so soft?
ReplyDeleteThe booty call is as old as telephonic communications. Remember, the first message ever transmitted by telephone was: "Mr. Watson...come here. I want you."
